Class Syllabus


Course Description: One of the hottest career trends for today's young marketing major is the often under appreciated yet up-and-coming role of business social media strategist.  An overwhelming majority (85.5 percent) of businesses surveyed planned to either maintain or increase their social media budgets in 2013. (Target Marketing Magazine, 2013).  In this class you will explore the purpose of web sites and social media as marketing tools, create and implement digital communication plans, and identify and evaluate metrics to determine adjustments to digital communication plan. Students will spend a majority of the class working with a local business to help them with their social media strategy.
Course Objectives:
1.Design and employ the use of motion graphics to create visual Web/Digital designs.
2.Prepare digital communication product specifications to communicate with various audiences.
3.Create and implement a proposal to assist a business with their social media.
4.Identify and evaluate metrics to determine the effectiveness of digital communication.
5.Employ web administration skills to maintain a web application.
6.Recognize and analyze potential IT security threats to develop and maintain security requirements.
